Ashton Fire Station has 4 fire appliances under the following callsigns: G39P1, G39R2, G39R4, G39R6. As well as having a standard pumping appliance it houses one of the brigades 2 technical response units. The technical response unit (TRU) covers the whole of Greater Manchester and respond to incident at height, in water and many more. The brigades only urban search and rescue vehicle is also based here (G39R6) this vehicle carries equipment to search and stabilise collapsed buildings.
